Churches
When Churches care for vulnerable children, we see generational and eternal impact. And churches are full of people who want to help! But knowing where to start can be daunting. We're honored to resource churches with a proven step-by-step process for churches to find their unique role in caring for vulnerable children and families. We aren't all called to do the same thing. But everyone can do something! Together, the Church can help every child and family thrive.

Tell us about your church
Let's start with what makes your church unique - what gifts, ministry goals, rhythms or programs are already in place? Learning more about you helps us serve you better.
2
Pick from proven methods
Once you've clued us in to the heart of your church, we'll recommend ways to get involved that could be a perfect match... and with the resources you'll need to get from idea to action

See the impact
Families are forever changed when communities and churches rally around them. And we believe that joining this movement will forever change your church too!
The Process
Family Advocacy Ministries
Some churches choose to launch ongoing "Family Advocacy Ministries" (or FAM) for foster, adoptive or struggling bio families.
These ministries are embedded in the local church and volunteer-led. Wildwood provides the behind-the-scenes training and coaching for these ministries, but each church's FAM is a unique expression of their church. They take many different forms, but they all have one thing in common: Lives are changed!

.

The "Family Advocacy Ministries" (or FAM) approach is employed in 2000+ churches across the country. Hear what pastors are saying about FAM:
Care Communities
Seeing families thrive takes a team effort. That's why we help churches build "care communities" to wraparound families. A Care Community is an engineered team, much like an extended family, of 4-8 committed and equipped volunteers who support and serve a foster, adoptive, kinship, or bio family and all the children in their care. This team provides regular and ongoing practical help such as providing meals, tutoring, childcare, transportation, laundry, yard work, etc.

The national average of families who continue fostering after their first year is 50%, but when supported by a Care Community, 90% continue fostering into a second year.
